Target group

All individuals with management responsibility in their daily work wanting to develop their managerial skills on a deeper psychological level. Participants wanting to gain a greater self-knowledge as well as a greater understanding and knowledge of other peoples' needs and motives.

Yield

You will learn about a model of behavioural psychology providing you with the opportunity to develop your human insight and understanding. You will become even more aware of your own response patterns and needs, as well as improve your ability to understand your employees' response patterns and needs. During the course you will learn how to communicate efficiently, motivate and delegate according to various types of employees. You will also gain greater insight into your own management style with its strengths and limitations. Furthermore you will gain insight into how others perceive you through a psychological 360 degree feedback.

Method

The course will be an interesting mix of discussions, exchange of experiences, instructor presentations, group work and concrete cases. During the course participants will work with their own management challenges, including concrete employee cases. During the entire process participants work on the same basic model of behavioural psychology. After each module participants are asked to devise concrete action plans.

  • Interpretation of your Person Profile - and possible consequences for your manager role (strengths/weaknesses)
  • How to 'read' others - behaviour, body language etc.
  • How to motivate and lead different employee types
  • Introduction to the Employee Profile - defining types and strengths/weaknesses
  • Analysis of the 'difficult employee'
  • Communication strategy according to different types
  • Response patterns, conflicts and defence mechanisms
  • 360* manager assessment - the way your surroundings perceive you
  • Introduction to the Role Profile - make a psychological profile of a role or job function
  • Concrete training in management situations and employee interviews
  • Practical application - when you get back
  • Personal development plan

Form

The course is held as a 2 day non-residential course in 2 modules (2 x 2 days). Tuition takes places at the following times:

Module 1:
